a Mother's prayer
Oh God of heaven and earth save my son.
He is amazing. He is caring, loving and sensitive. He opens the doors for old ladies and says 'yes ma'am' and 'no sir'. He is handsome. He is funny. He makes the whole family pee their pants. He creates nicknames like Frank or Richard or Henry for his brother, Or Nard, or Little Baggie. Creator of the slap-fest game he runs three miles to his best friend's house to surprise slap him. He loves the dog like the dog should be loved. Athletically talented, capable of just showing up, he takes down the competition.
"You're Noah's mom?!" A stranger asked me at the Horseshoe Bay tennis tournament. "Yes." I said. It was a regular occurrence.
Please show his body mercy today and this week. Be strong for him. Fight for his body. Save his body and soul and make him great. Great for you. Great for people. So that his testimony can be heard and given to those who need help. To other addicts who need life more than death, who can't save themselves. Save him for them.
Of all women born, past present and future, I was chosen as his mother. There are no words. The Universe must think me strong and amazing to bestow this highest honor on me.
